Keyword Techniques For Search Engine Optimization

SEO or (Search Engine Optimization) is a sub niche of search engine marketing.
Unfortunately, with SEO, there are no shortcuts, You will need to carry out some hard work, especially in relation to the actual content of your site.

If you are looking to improve the search engine position of your site, you should consider this very early on when looking at using SEO.

These are some key points to follow:

Good Content

This is probably the single most important point you should remember when doing SEO, especially if you want your site to be found on the web. Although your site may be technically perfect so that the search engine robots find it, you will find that it will not help if the actual content of your site is not good. Also make sure everything is factually correct as well as grammatically sound.

Make Sure Your Page Titles are Descriptive

If you make your page titles as simple, descriptive and relevant as possible, it will make it easier for the search engines to know what each page of your site is about. This will then allow people to scan through the search results they get, and are able to quickly determine if your site contains what they are actually looking for. Also, it should be remembered that the page title is also what is used in order to link to your site from the results provided by the search engines.

Keywords

It is important that you make sure the selected words you use meet your marketing criteria. So do not pick words which are too general. Using words that are more specific will result in a higher ranking for your site. Use keywords in your page titles, meta tags, and also throughout the page content. That makes it easier for search engines to spider your page.

When I am going to optimize a site I always check out the competition by doing a search on relevant keywords to get a better idea of what’s already working out there.

Backlinks and Your Website

A backlink is a link which directs others towards your site. So, the number of backlinks that your site has is an indication of how popular or important it is according to your peers (other site owners). These are especially important for SEO, as search engines such as Google will give more credit to those sites with a good number of quality backlinks. So they will then consider these sites more relevant than others in the results pages of a search query.

The best way to generate good backlinking is through:

o Recipricol linking to other sites with the same content

o Site submissions to directories that allow free submissions and some paid directories

o Writing and submission of articles to online article sites

o Blogging and updating your blog regularly

As you will soon see, search engines are one of the primary ways in which internet users will find a particular website. So that is why a site with good search engine listings is likely to see a dramatic increase in the traffic that it receives.

How to Do Search Engine Optimization – Linking

How to do search engine optimization relies heavily on linking. The way people say a website is cool is linking to it. So that gets back to the idea of Google being quoted.

The way websites say this website is important is they might have a link on their website that points back to this website. It can be an image link, a text link or any link that points back to the website.

We’ve started on the article website, we post an article, on the blog website we might post a comment, on one of the forums we post a comment. Within that comment we might put a link back to our website. For example, to an article we might reply and at the end say we might say Damian from our soccer website.

To the blog post he might reply to someone else’s post and say Yes, I think Ronaldo is the best soccer player Damian from yourdomainname. Effectively what we’re doing is getting all these other links on websites pointing back to our website which is increasing and improving our popularity.

Now, even though we are posting these links, we are effectively engineering that popularity because we are making these posts. What Google is trying to do is try to replicate what happens in nature. Naturally speaking a website is more popular if more people are linking to it and it therefore must be a better website. We look at strategies, the links are not coming from hundreds of people, and we’re creating some of those links.

Let’s say Nike had a link to our soccer drills website. This link from Nike is going to be so much more important than others, because Nike is an already respected website. Nike already has a lot of other people linking to the website saying this is important. That in a nutshell is the way Google works as a search engine.

Based on an analysis of where your links are coming from determines how popular that website is based on the sort of links you are getting. Sometimes you will find one link from nike.com could be worth thirty or forty links from these other websites. It is better to get links from these websites but it’s harder. How to do search engine optimization comes down to a balance between volume and quality of links.
